What to Pack for a Perfect Spring Weekend Trip

filed under:

Is there anything better than spending a weekend exploring a new place in beautiful spring weather? Last week, I shared my guide to quick spring getaways so I wanted to share a follow-up post to it on what to pack for a perfect spring weekend trip. When I was in school and then when I was a teacher, one of my favorite parts of spring was spring break! I now don’t have an official slot in my calendar for spring break but I do love traveling so much this time of year that I still always plan a few spring getaways… starting with this weekend at Palmetto Bluff!

As evident from my post last week, you really don’t need to travel far to escape to beautiful, blooming, colorful spring destinations. I struggle with it (!!!) but I always try to pack light in a small carry-on size suitcase for quick weekend getaways. For these types of trips, I tend to pack necessities, pieces that transition easily from day to night in case I explore all day long, and one or two new pieces I buy and save for the trip as a fun treat! Below are my tips for what to pack for a perfect spring weekend trip, enjoy!

What to Pack for a Perfect Spring Weekend Trip

1. A timeless shirtdress that can be worn out and about for a day of exploring. This sleeveless shirtdress is perfect for warm days when you want sunshine on your arms. It pairs beautifully with a denim jacket, blazer, or cropped jacket as well. This long sleeve shirtdress is a gorgeous choice for crisp spring days. How cute would it look with a scarf tied around your neck!?

2. An everyday outfit that can be worn for any occasion consisting of a feminine blouse paired with a pair of cropped jeans or a midi skirt.

3. A springy jacket or denim jacket for cool mornings or evenings out

4. A pair of comfortable espadrilles to wear out to dinner and/or for a day of exploring… I kid you not, I can comfortably wear these all day long! (Note: if you are between sizes, I recommend sizing down. I usually wear a size 6.5/36.5 and I wear a size 36 in these).

5. A pair of chic tennis shoes or loafers (similar for less) for days that involve lots of walking

6. A carry-all tote bag (also love this leather tote) that can fit every necessity a full day might require

7. A floral scarf to give any outfit an extra touch of femininity and color

8. A comfortable pastel sweater (size down, also love this sweater) to travel home in

9. A brand new stand out piece you save for the trip and can’t wait to wear (as seen on me here)

10. A pair of chic striped pajamas for cozy hotel nights
