This Dress is Perfect for Neutral Lovers

filed under:

It’s no secret that I love to wear a lot of color but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love neutrals as well. Since my outfits this spring have been pretty colorful, I wanted to mix it up today with a lovely little off white + white look. In truth, I’m not exactly sure what to call the color of this dress but I think that’s part of why I was drawn to it. Depending on accessories, the dress can look more blush or more like a creamy, nutty off white. Either way, this Dress is perfect for neutral lovers! Keep on reading for my tips on dressing this beauty up for cocktail parties, Easter, and more versus dressing it down for a dinner date or a spring day of exploring.

This Dress is Perfect for Neutral Lovers

How gorgeous is this dress!? I can’t get enough of the feminine silhouette and the beautiful neutral color. My eye is really drawn to the handkerchief hemline. It makes the dress flutter around when you wear it, which I just love. I tied the wrap belt to cinch my waist but this dress can also be styled without it for a relaxed trapeze dress look. I also really love that the wrap belt is a matching neutral color on one side and white on the other side. It gives the dress a bit of “color” even though it’s another neutral color.

I think the white really pops against the neutral tone! If you’re strictly a neutral gal, then this dress is for you! Here are a few other gorgeous neutral pieces I love from the designer: bow top, tie top, ruffle dress, sleeved dress, and dress pants. Plus, I rounded up a few other neutral dresses I love:

How to Dress Up and Dress Down a Satin Dress

It can be tricky to find a dress that can be dressed up just as easily as it can be dressed down. At first glance, the satin material of this dress might make you want to slip on a pair of heels to immediately dress it up. While I love this look for Easter or a spring cocktail party, I definitely don’t think that you can’t make satin casual. In my case, I wore this dress from day to night. So I dressed it down to work for both occasions.

My mom was in town, so we popped into the Gibbes Museum to see a miniature portraits exhibit. It was a gorgeous day so I wanted to wear a dress and I knew I’d be walking so I styled this satin dress with a pair of bow sandals (more sizes here, also love these!) and a white straw purse (last seen here!). The bow sandals kept me comfortable and the straw purse fit all my daily necessities. Later on, I wore this dress out to dinner with Edwin at the new Spanish tapas restaurant, Malagón.

Can you see it now? This satin dress is dressy enough for a cocktail party with heels and a clutch. But versatile enough to be dressed down with a casual sandal and straw purse for a dinner out!

Bow Shoes

If you put bows on a shoe, I’m sold! Case in point: this outfit from just last week also features a pair of bow shoes (that are super affordable!). These white bow sandals are by one of my most favorite shoe designers, Alexandre Birman. All his heels are incredibly comfortable (as seen here) so I knew I’d love the sandals! These bow sandals are selling out incredibly quickly but I found more sizes here! If you’re a bride-to-be, then you might love these for a casual event you have or your bachelorette! I’m also swooning over them in blue and white as well as in gold.
