Last weekend, we hopped on a plane for a quick trip to Los Angeles. I’m always partial to snowy destinations around Christmastime but there is something about Los Angeles in December. There is magic in the air! We had the most wonderful time soaking in the sunshine and embracing the California cool mindset for a few days. It got me thinking about the best time of year to visit LA. I’m not going to lie, being able to step out for the day in a pretty blue and white knee length dress in the middle of December was a true holiday gift! So, without further adieu, I’m spilling on the unexpected best time of year to visit Los Angeles and, of course, what to wear while there!

The Unexpected Best Time of Year to Visit Los Angeles
You might be thinking to yourself, “I know the best time of year to visit Los Angeles. The summer!” Well, I’m here to fill you in on a little secret… that is, the unexpected best time of year to visit Los Angeles. Drum roll please! The best time of year to visit LA is the winter! I can confidently say this because I lived in Santa Monica for over five years. I can also confidently say that locals love the winter the most because my husband was born and raised in LA and he wholeheartedly thinks Los Angeles winters can’t be topped.
The winter is such a fantastic time of year to visit Los Angeles because there are way fewer tourists so the city is more enjoyable to be in and navigate. Perhaps most importantly though is the weather during the winter in LA! It’s phenomenal with plenty of days in the 70s. If I can wear my favorite wardrobe item – dresses – in December, then I’m one happy girl! This brings me to my thoughts on what to wear in Los Angeles in the winter… why this jaunty blue and white wrap dress, of course!

What to Wear in Los Angeles in the Winter
Sure, Los Angeles can have some crisp sweater weather days in the winter. However, it’s not uncommon to have beautiful, sunny, 75-degree days in December, January, and February. Los Angeles is many things: La La Land, the City of Angeles, Hollywood, and more. Overall though, it’s a beach city with gorgeous coastlines, huge beaches, and magical little coves.
