The happiest spring dress is here! Thanks to Daylight Savings this week, the longer evenings are making me want to dress like my happiest self and this sherbet-colored gingham dress embodies my happiest self. The sun is setting in Charleston now at 7:30pm, which means it’s not dark until close to 8pm! In my opinion, spring is officially here in Charleston: it’s staying warmer much later into the day, the wisteria is starting the bloom, the spring season of home and garden tours kicked off, and I’ve received about 10 emails this week from people asking for recommendations for upcoming Charleston spring and summer trips. I’m honestly so happy about it all that I could burst! I’m dressing to reflect my happiness, which is where this pretty pastel plaid dress comes in. Have you ever seen a cuter spring dress?!
The Happiest Spring Dress
This pretty gingham/plaid dress, which I’m dubbing as “the happiest spring dress,” is part of the Gal Meets Glam Resort Collection this year. You may remember me wearing a tropical print jumpsuit from the collection on here recently… what can I say? The collection really spoke to me! I love everything about the collection, from the pastel colors to the bows to the fun prints. The line recently released more spring dresses to swoon over and I’m dying again. My favorites from the brand new release this week include this fresh white poplin jumpsuit, this floral maxi dress (more sizes here), this bow sash floral dress, this rose print smocked dress, and this green shirtdress. I rounded up these and more of my favorite recent styles here:
I styled this happy spring dress pretty simply with a $60 pair of pink bow sandals and a straw purse.
The sandals are such a great purchase for spring! I admit, that one doesn’t need pink shoes every day but the fact that they are so affordable makes them worth it! I jump at any chance to add extra feminine details to an outfit too so I adore the bows on the sandals. Also, I have to say that this straw bag isn’t just another straw bag. The beaded crossbody strap makes it so fun for everyday wear and makes it completely vacation ready!
If anyone is planning a spring or summer trip to Charleston, definitely feel free to email me for recommendations or with questions! I get a lot of emails this time of year and I absolutely love connecting with and responding to y’all about Charleston. Drop me a line on my contact page or at jillian@rhymeandreason-jillian.com. xx
