I’m so excited to have the beaches open again in Charleston that I can hardly put my joy into words! Last weekend, Edwin and I spent our whole Saturday on Sullivan’s Island enjoying what I would call a perfect beach day. We’ve got our Sullivan’s Island beach days down to a science! They always involve food from one of three places: either takeout sandwiches and frozé from the Co-Op or dinning in at The Obstinate Daughter for salads and pizzas and Poe’s Tavern for fish tacos and burgers. We also love getting scoops of gelato from Beardcat’s Sweet Shop! I always suggest a visit to Goldbug for a pretty selection of jewelry, clothing, and more. Sometimes we load our bikes in our car so we can cruise around the island but you can also rent bikes at Sealand Adventure Sports.
Finally, we soak up as much sunshine and salt air as possible on the beach! Every Charleston area local has their favorite station (aka their favorite beach entrance point). Watch a video of our recent beach day at the bottom on this post! Now, to the point of this post…! I rounded up a bunch of summer swimwear cover ups you’ll love below including tunics, sarongs, all white options, and more.

Summer Swimwear Cover Ups You’ll Love
Tunics
Tunics are always easy breezy beach or pool cover up options. By design, tunics are loose and flowy so you won’t sweat a ton in the summer while covering up a bit from the sun. I really love Roller Rabbit tunics as seen on me in this post (and in this post from our honeymoon)! Every year, they come out in beautiful new prints. The soft gauzy material Roller Rabbit designs their tunics with is a dream for beach days.
Summer Whites
I love fresh summer whites. I clearly gravitate toward white looks by the beach and the pool, as seen here on Martha’s Vineyard and here in California. There is something undeniably serene about a lovely white cover up blowing in an ocean breeze. Below are a bunch of white cover ups and more.
Sarongs & Pareos
I’d love more sarongs and pareos in my closet. I have a Lemlem sarong from a few years ago that I love to tie around my waist over a bathing suit when I want my shoulders and arms to get a little sun kissed. Sarongs and pareos are just chic.
Cover Ups
Below is a catch all of tons of different cover ups I found around the web that I love! I think you’ll find a few that catch your eye. Happy cover up shopping!
