Blue Jeans Stripes Summer Denim Guide 2017

Summer Denim Guide

filed under:

I love dresses but I’m also a total jeans and a tee kind of girl. I’m a firm believer that there isn’t much better than a great pair of blue jeans and nothing can make a girl feel better in her own skin. I recently snagged a new pair of jeans that I am completely in love with (they actually inspired this post) and can’t recommend enough… I got these button-up jeans from Madewell (they also come in a shorts version). I’m really loving the buttons and I’m obsessed with the raw hem. They fit like a glove too and are just the way I like jeans – good denim with just a little bit of stretch. In addition to classic blue jeans, I love white jeans, jean shorts, jean jackets, and fun denim pieces like overalls, skirts, and dresses. So, I created this summer denim guide to share all my current favorite jean picks right now. I generally gravitate toward lighter washes in the summer so you’ll see a lot of that look as well as lots of white denim. Enjoy!

Blue Jeans:

Blue jeans are timeless but there are so many different styles so it’s important to think about what you need this summer. Are you in the market for a casual pair of boyfriend jeans, everyday button-up jeans, bootcut jeans (which are everywhere right now and like the pair I’m wearing above), or distressed jeans. Browse my selects below!

White Jeans:

Summer is synonymous with white jeans! I’ve been wearing the same pair of classic white jeans from J.Crew for forever (as seen here) but I also have and love this high-rise pair (as seen here and here). I also love these two fun pairs of white jeans: distressed and detailed.

Jean Shorts:

A girl simply can’t go through summer without a pair of jean shorts. I always have a pair of blue and white jean shorts on major rotation throughout the whole season. Right now, I’m loving these four pairs: one, two, three, four.

Jean Jackets:

Jean jackets provide the perfect layer in the summer to throw on after the sun goes down. If I wear a jacket in the summer, 9 out of 10 times it is a denim jacket so I had to share my favorite styles including this steal, these two middle priced options (one, two), and these two splurges (one, two).

Denim Tops:

A soft chambray shirt will never not be wonderful. I have a variety from J.Crew and Madewell from over the years that I toss on as tops or sometimes unbuttoned as a light layer. This popover style and this button-up style are classics. However, there are also a few fun denim top styles out right now like these this ruffle top, this off this shoulder top, this eyelet peplum top, and this showstopper top (my favorite!).

Everything else (aka dresses, skirts, overalls & more!):

I’m obsessed with this denim dress (also love this one and this one)! I also have heart eyes for these blue jean overalls and this white jean overalls. Also, I’m so happy to see jean skirts come back in style (since my middle school days!) like this blue jean skirt and this white jean skirt.  Shop more of my favorite fun styles below!
