I think the easiest way to print mix in the fall is to mix stripes and plaid. I believe in stripes so I wear them year around. I even love wearing blue and white stripes in the dead of winter. One way I do it is by layering a plaid button-down on top of my stripes. The turtleneck on my shirt makes the blue and white stripes even more acceptable for fall! P.S. Keep reading because I shared some new Santa Monica/Venice restaurants that I’ve tried lately!
I’d easily wear this outfit all day long to work, to run errands, or to go out to lunch. Since it gets dark so early now, I oftentimes like to stay around my neighborhood if I go out to dinner. One of the perks of living in Santa Monica is that I can walk to restaurants so I like to take advantage of that. If I walk out my front door for a casual bite or go sit at the bar somewhere for a glass of wine, then I’ll probably throw on another layer over my stripes and plaid. Enter: the J.Crew puffer vest. Guys, you need to buy it now! It sells out every year and while it might be included in a large sale, it specifically doesn’t ever get marked down (it’s part of a big 25% off sale happening now!). Trust me when I say that by Christmastime, you might be kicking yourself for not snagging the vest in the color you like earlier (yes, it comes in multiple colors!).
I’m so tired of hearing myself say this (because I say it ALL the time) but I have to remind you… these are the most comfortable booties I own. Joie shoes have such comfortable padding! I’m literally obsessed. The booties come in multiple colors in suede like mine and they also come in leather. You might want to think seriously about these for your Black Friday shopping!
I’d always wanted a pair of Illesteva sunglasses so this summer I said yes to a pair (during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale). I have a few pairs of tortoise sunnies but I really didn’t have a good black pair. Now, I’m all set for winter with my all black sunglasses!
I’ve tried a bunch of new restaurants on the westside of Los Angeles lately that I want to share. I’ve enjoyed all of them, which is always fun so here goes: Local Kitchen + Wine Bar in Santa Monica, Herringbone in Santa Monica, Forma in Santa Monica, The Yacht Club in Santa Monica, and Plant Food + Wine in Venice. Not all of these restaurants are brand new but they are all newish and I just recently got to go to them.
