Let’s talk business…

What motivated you to start your blog, LaurenNelson.com?

I wanted to start a blog so I could have a creative outlet. It’s been such a fun journey and I’ve made some great friends along the way. I recommend everyone to start a blog if you are passionate about it!

Describe your blog in 3 sentences or less.

L-N.com is a curated guide to a stylish life sharing the best in interiors, fashion and all around style.

What keeps you inspired at work day-in and day-out?

It’s so hard to stay inspired on a daily basis! Sometimes I beat myself up about it but I’ve learned to shut down the computer and try again the next day. Also, lists are my best friend. They always help me on days where I’m just not feeling it.

How do you pick what topics and content you want to post about?

Topics mostly come to me at random. I love reading magazines for content inspiration as well.

Is there something that you know now that you wish you’d known when you started your blog?

Hmm… great question! I wish I would have taken it more seriously in the beginning.

Classic, fun, preppy.

What are your wardrobe staples?

I love Ralph Lauren. I’m literally freezing all of the time so their cable-knit crewneck sweaters are my life line. I wear them all of the time – at work, on the weekends, I keep one in my purse when I’m traveling. I also wear their Oxford shirts on repeat. I pretty much have one in every color.

If I peaked into your closet, what color would be the most prominent?

Navy, Stripes, White, Pink.

Are there any trends you’re excited about right now?

Off-the-shoulder tops or dresses are my JAM right now.

What fashion piece would you splurge on tomorrow if you could?

A new hand bag, I love the Gucci SoHo Leather Disco Bag… Or I’d like a Celine.

What’s your favorite part of living in New York City?

Not sure if this necessarily pertains to NYC, but I love living on the East Coast because of all of the weekend trips you can take – Connecticut, Boston, DC, Hamptons, Nantucket, Cape Cod, Fire Island, you name it. There are so many amazing places you can visit in only a short amount of time.
