Two weeks ago, I had the immense pleasure of showering Baby Eversole in California with an intimate group of female family and friends. I am so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to have a baby shower in 2020! When we found out we were pregnant (again after miscarrying), it was before Covid so it never in a million years crossed our minds that a baby shower might be out of the question. We really went back and fourth but ended up deciding to move ahead with the baby shower in as safe of a way as we knew how.
My shower hosts were able to turn safety measures into fun little shower details like asking guests to pick a blue or a pink face mask upon walking into the shower based on what gender they think the baby is. (It ended up being almost tied with two more women guessing girl than boy!) My lovely shower hosts thought of everything!

Showering Baby Eversole in California
My baby shower was hosted by three women I love dearly and truly think of as family: my best friend Allison, Allison’s mom, and the mom of my two lifelong twin boy besties. Both of the moms are like second mothers to me. And happen to be two of my mother’s nearest and dearest friends. I’m so incredibly grateful to have these three women in my life and truly can’t imagine life without them. So many of my memories from childhood all the way up to now involve them. It was a huge joy for me to add the baby shower weekend to our endless list of rich memories!

The shower was hosted at Allison’s parents house in Laguna Beach, California.
It is perhaps the dreamiest California cottage in the state! So dreamy in fact that you can follow along with the house, White Rose Cottage, on Instagram. Allison’s mom does a wonderful job of posting little glimpses of the house!

Allison and the two moms, Kathy and Pam, used all local vendors for the shower to make the day a magical Southern California day to remember. The absolutely gorgeous flowers were done by Cargo Creative. I wish she could do flowers for my house every week! The beautiful wine cocktails and bar setup was done by Argaux. I sipped on the mocktail of the day and it was divine. So I can only imagine how delicious the wine-based cocktails were! The shower hosts really nailed it too with the savory food thanks for the incredibly beautiful and delicious charcuterie by Tablo. And the oh so yummy mini sandwiches by Mendocino Farms.
Let me just say, the charcuterie board was truly a work of art! Last but certainly not least, the sweet treats! The shower hosts tapped Meet the Source to make the most stunningly gorgeous and unbelievably delicious raw vegan cake and Loria Stern to bake the most delectable and ladylike pressed floral cookies. The desserts were beyond swoon-worthy!

I truly feel so blessed to have been able to celebrate our little one on the way with my beautiful and generous shower hosts. As well as my own amazing mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, and close friends.
We had some aunts and cousins who I know would have loved to be there. But were, unfortunately, unable to make it at the last minute due to Coronavirus exposures. But, such is life in 2020 (everyone is okay!). I can’t tell y’all how grateful I am to be welcoming our baby into a community of so much love and support. And I can’t think of a greater blessing in this life!

I wore this beautiful jacquard printed creamy white dress from my favorite Charleston boutique, Hampden, to the shower (also available here). It is so comfortable – bump or no bump – and just a gorgeous dress all around! P.S. A few people DM’d me about my girlfriend Nora’s dress (the embroidered pink dress above on the far left). It’s such a beautiful dress!

We were planning another small shower in Los Angeles this week hosted by Edwin’s family for Edwin’s LA friends and friends but have sadly made the decision to delay the couples shower and make it a couples sip and see sometime down the road when we aren’t basing seemingly every decision off of Covid. The same goes for a Charleston shower down the road. In general, I take from all of this an immense gratitude to have been able to have a shower, to have so many loving people and communities in our lives that want to celebrate us and our little bundle of joy, and to have everyone around us be healthy! xx
Loved showering you and Baby Eversole!
