Rowan’s first Christmas was such a special time for us! Christmas really takes on a whole new meaning when you experience it with kids. Rowan had zero idea of what was going on around him but it was a truly beautiful Christmas day and holiday season for Edwin and me and our family members that were able to experience it with him. Our Christmas season consisted of daily walks around the neighborhood to see all of Charleston’s holiday decor, lots of quality time at my parents’ house, reading Christmas books to Rowan, dressing Rowan in cute little Christmas pjs, good food, and quality time at home.
Edwin was meant to be traveling for work in December a good bit, but when Los Angeles shut down again around Thanksgiving, the majority of his work was cancelled and pushed to February (here’s hoping Edwin is able to work again soon!). Although lost work is never good, it was a blessing since it was during the month of December. Edwin was able to be home to make lots of special memories with Rowan for his first Christmas and able to feel safe without traveling a lot during this most bizarre of holiday seasons. It was a Christmas miracle (last year he was in Los Angeles for a good bit of December for work and the year before he was in France and Nigeria for work for the entire month up until three days before Christmas)!

Can you believe Christmas 2020 has come and gone? I’m in disbelief! I started to feel like myself again (after having Rowan) right before the holidays kicked off so it was wonderful timing. We were getting lots more sleep and were really able to savor the holidays and enjoy them to the fullest with our little love bug. Now, I can’t wait to see Rowan grow throughout 2021. I have a feeling that Rowan’s second Christmas will be pure magic with him walking. How do they become toddlers so quickly!? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones!
