Red, White, & Blue Outfit for the Fourth of July

Red, White, and Blue Outfit

filed under:

Summer is in full swing! In fact, I can’t believe it’s already going by so quickly. The Fourth of July is NEXT week! As I mentioned last week in my Fourth of July Packing Guide, I love to get super festive when I dress for holidays. Today’s red, white, and blue outfit should prove that right away! I shot this look last week in the West Village while I was in New York City. I tried so many fun restaurants on the trip including Santina, Quality Eats, The Lucky Bee, Gardënia, Mother of Pearl for cocktails, and Cha Cha for coffee. YUM! Next up, Aspen for the Fourth!

I instantly fell in love with these scalloped gingham shorts (on major sale!) and have already worn them a handful of times since adding them to my closet. Other than this red, white, and blue outfit, I’ve paired the shorts with this nautical sweater (on major sale!) in the Hamptons and a basic white tee (on sale!). I can’t get enough of gingham this summer!

One of my favorite ways to keep my outfits interesting is to mix patterns and prints. I thought the red and white stripes worked perfectly with the navy and white checks because the color white ran through both patterns and because neither pattern is too bold. The red and white striped top is too cute on! It is boxy and flowy so you have to be comfortable in that look but I’m always happy as a clam in an easy breezy top. I’m wearing an extra-small though instead of a small to keep the top from being too boxy.

This straw tote might be the cutest bag I own (also available here)! It’s the perfect size because I can wear it around the city and it’s not too big or take it to the beach and it still fits all my beach supplies. The red, white, and blue detailing is what sold me though. SO patriotic and adorable!

I’ve been wearing these tassel sandals everywhere I go (also available on sale here!). I was hesitant to buy them at first because I thought the tassels would tickle me or get in the way but I don’t even notice them when I’m wearing the sandals. No exaggeration, I probably get 5 different compliments on the sandals each time I wear them!

  1. Print mixing done right! You look so cute and festive, Jillian 🙂 Hope you have a great time in Aspen – sounds like such a great place to celebrate the holiday!

  2. Santina is amazing! Still haven’t made it to Gardenia yet, but the interior photos I’ve seen are so cute. Love the festive outfit– that top is perfect for a beachy weekend.
