Nautical Red and White Stripes with a Necktie and Jack Rogers in Marina Del Rey

Red And White Stripes in Marina Del Rey

filed under:

Hello from sunny Marina Del Rey! When I was styling this outfit I absolutely knew that I had to shoot it against the boats in the Marina. The red and white stripes + blue neck scarf combination was just too nautical to not take advantage of such a perfect LA backdrop. Summer weather in Los Angeles extends into October so I still have plenty of time to sport this outfit. Plus, the layered on cable knit sweater is perfect for brisk nights along the water. Keep reading for the full lowdown on my red and white stripes in Marina Del Rey!

I’ve had this cable knit sweater for 3 or 4 years now but I linked a bunch of similar ones below. In particular, I really love these three: one, two, and three. A cable knit sweater is such a great piece to own because it’s warm and cozy for the winter but nautical enough to throw on in the summer on a cool night. It’s a year-round sweater!

I fell in love with the neck scarf this summer! I scooped this one up in June from Club Monaco and sadly it has already sold out. Luckily, I found a super similar neck scarf for you that has the exact same feel.

How adorable is my Kiel James Patrick bracelet?! I’m absolutely obsessed with the gold rope look! It makes me want to going sailing right now. They have so many great bracelets in their Quartermaster Collection… I just can’t get enough. My bracelet is a great price too so keep it in mind as the perfect gift for any beachy girl.

I’m wearing my most favorite white jeans in the world – the J.Crew skinny white jeans. The jeans have just the right amount of stretch in them. They go great with a neutral pair of Jack Rogers sandals if I do say so myself. Pssst! I also want to try out this pair of white jeans because a friend told me they are great and I’ve maybe never seen such a great price for denim before.

I wear blue and white stripes ALL the time so it’s fun to mix in a different striped color combo every once in awhile. I think a red and white stripe is super clean, bold, and classic all at the same time. For interesting variations, this top is a super fun detailed version of red and white stripes and I like this top of mixed red, white, and blue stripes too.

  1. Loooove this look! You pull off the neck scarf so well, and there’s nothing better than a good Saint James tee. I’m thinking a red + white one needs to make its way to my collection 🙂 And Old Navy’s white jeans are pretty good–but I liked last season’s way more than this years!

  2. Jillian, I really love this look1 been meaning to try the little neck tie scarf thing and I think this is the perfect way I would do it. Or maybe with a blazer for fall. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

  3. Oh and good luck with the little kindergardeners! My son starts kindergarden in two weeks as well. They sure are a handful but I think you will enjoy them a ton. They are still sweet, innocent and such babies!
