Happy weekend loves! I’m so looking forward to another beautiful spring weekend in Charleston! Do you have any fun plans while staying close to home!? I have a few fun new pieces that I’ve been looking for an occasion to wear so I can’t wait until the world can safely open back up again! I’ll most likely be sporting some preppy spring outfits that scream spring meets summer so stay tuned! In the meantime, I’m sharing some of my favorite similar outfits with y’all that are perfect to wear for the remainder of spring and for the summer season ahead. I hope you enjoy! xx

What Is Preppy Spring Style
What is preppy spring style you ask? I think it can mean different things to different people! To me, preppy spring style involves a lot of stripes and florals with a few polka dot prints thrown in (in the fall, insert plaids!). Preppy style is much more synonymous with East Coast style than it is with West Coast style. Having lived on both coasts before, I have to say that I agree with this general statement. Preppy style never shies away from pops of bright or pastel color or bold prints and is classified by clean cut styles over distressed styles (ex: classic blue jeans vs. distressed denim). Also, if you would ever classify your style as nautical, then your style might be more preppy than you think!
Admittedly, this all pretty much describes how I dress… I wear a ton of color, stripes, and florals and definitely define my style to fit more of an East Coast aesthetic. I literally can’t pull off distressed denim! Cool “It” girl style that so many of my Los Angeles friends rock so well is just not inherently me. It got me thinking that I have a lot of spring preppy style outfit ideas that I want to share with y’all! If you share my style sense, then this post is for you!
Preppy Spring Outfits
The Perfect Wrap Dress

Persifor Dress / Espadrilles / Purse (similar colorways: one / two / three)
I think this is truly the best wrap dress around. It fits perfectly (aka doesn’t gap or tie awkwardly!), is beyond comfortable, and is so flattering. It’s by one of my favorite resort wear brands, Persifor, who makes the happiest clothes like this jaunty blue and white dress. A must for spring and summer! More here.
A Classic Shirtdress

You can never, I repeat NEVER, go wrong with a timeless shirtdress. This one is super easy breezy to throw on on a sunny spring day. Shirtdresses are classically preppy because they never go out of style. I love this shirtdress paired with these adorable printed sandals and stripe wicker purse. More here.
Flouncy Florals

On Jillian: Dress (on sale!) / Scarf (on sale!) / Sneakers (on sale!)
On Edwin: Chambray Shirt / Jacket (on sale!)
Nothing says preppy spring quite like ruffled, flouncy florals (well, other than stripes). This gorgeous printed dress, this floral scarf, and these simple white sneakers are all on sale right now! More here.
Dressing for a Green Thumb

Dress / Hat / Purse / Sandals (similar for less) / Sunglasses
To go strawberry picking this spring, I wore the loveliest green and white stripe tie waist dress from one of my favorite brands, Pearl by Lela Rose. I couldn’t resist this dress for the crisp cotton, smart stripes, bow detail, or the gorgeous green color tone. I accessorized with the most timeless Beau & Ro Moroccan-made natural bucket bag (it comes in more colors). Turns out, it was great for carrying strawberries! I also protected my face from the sun with my monogrammed ribbon straw hat from Tuckernuck. In addition to the white ribbon, there are four other ribbon colors (p.s. the monogram is optional). Lastly, I slipped on some sandals and tortoise shell sunnies. Spring dressing is the best! More here.
Print Mixing Stripes & Gingham

Dress / Sandals (old – similar, similar, similar) / Purse
I absolutely love this outfit because I can never resist print mixing! The style of my stripe dress is utter perfection with its slight fit and flare silhouette. I also adore these gingham block heel sandals with simple jeans and tee outfits in addition to sundresses. More here.
My Everyday Outfit

Top (old, similar: one, two, three, four, five, six) / Scarf (old – similar) / Jeans / Purse / Loafers / Necklace
This preppy spring outfit can best be described as the outfit I wear everyday. I mean, how can you beat a pair of blue jeans, classic loafers, and a stripe button-down. The crochet trim on the button-down is a whimsical touch of fun! More here.
Plaid for Spring

Dress (old, similar: one, two, three, four, five) / Purse (old, similar: one, two, three, four) / Sandals (old, similar: one, two)
Here’s the great news, you can wear plaid in the spring! I get more compliments when I wear this dress then I can even tell you. The sherbet colors are delicious for spring and the bold plaid check is a preppy style lovers dream! More here.
Setting Sail in Stripes

On Jillian: Hoodie (old – similar) / Jeans / Converse / Purse / Sunglasses
On Sarah: Dress (old – similar) / Sandals
Sarah and I both sported stripes for a boating outing last spring at Palmetto Bluff, which is something I wish we could do every weekend! My button-up blue jeans have been my favorite jeans all spring long… I love the crop on them! Add on a simple stripe hoodie (perfect for chilly spring evenings) with a fresh white pair of Converse (I’ll be wearing these all summer long) and you’ve got yourself an outfit. More here.
Preppy Resort Wear

Dress / Clutch / Slides (similar) / Earrings (old – similar, similar)
I can never not sing Persifor’s praises! Persifor is the master of chic resort wear with preppy prints and lively colors. This dotty wrap dress is a springtime must! More here.
Navy or Nothing

Dress / Purse / Ballet Flats / Scarf (old – similar)
I love all the little details of this dress including the ladylike pleats, adorable pockets, and perfect navy color. It pairs perfectly with my light blue ballet flats too and bamboo bag. An all around win! More here.
Beachy Keen
Coverup (old – similar) / Espadrilles (color combo old – similar, similar) / Straw Tote (old – similar)
Beachy keen for spring! This ruffle sleeve beach coverup (it works as a dress too) has been one of my favorites for the last two years. I absolutely love this season’s version of my dress in green! More here.
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend! xx
