Plaid Shirts To Kick Off Autumn

If you peaked into my closet at my winter tops you’d see that over half of them are plaid button-downs. I seriously have an addiction! In my own defense, I wear them almost everyday either to work, to dinner, to run errands, or to a football game. I like to wear them so many ways: buttoned up, open with a tee underneath, and layered under sweaters. I also love popover plaid shirts that button only halfway down. They are just so darn comfortable and classic!

The great news for a girl like me is that there is never a shortage of plaid shirts for sale in the fall and winter. Every year, I find a new plaid pattern I just can’t live without! My go-to brands to shop for plaid shirts are RailsJ.Crew, and Madewell but I’ve also scooped up a handful of plaid button-downs from other retailers over the years (two years ago I got the most delicious boyfriend style plaid shirt from Jenni Kayne (similar) that’s still one of my favorites). Now is a great time to buy a new plaid shirt because you’ll be so excited to bust it out as a fresh new wardrobe piece in about two weeks when October starts. I checked all over to find the best plaid shirts to kick off autumn so without further ado, here are my favorites:
