Winter white on white outfit at Butcher & Bee in Charleston // Rhyme & Reason

Pearl Embellished Sweater

filed under:

There’s something about January that always makes me want to wear a clean, neutral color palette. I find myself reaching for a lot of white, cream, ivory, and oatmeal. The colors always feel fresh like the start of a new year. This pearl embellished sweater from Hampden (more sizes here) that I got for Christmas has already been on major rotation in 2018 because it completely fits my “fresh start” mindset. I also packed it for my trip this weekend so expect to see more of it. I absolutely adore it so I wore it to brunch that week at Butcher & Bee with my girlfriend Liz.

The pearl embellished sweater (more sizes here) is a good, heavy, warm weight, which is just what I need this winter… it’s been quite chilly in Charleston and I still have a few cold weather trips this month and next before I fully embrace spring. I adore the pearl embellishments! I’ve always loved pearls (this coffee table book was one of the first coffee table books I ever bought for myself) because they are so feminine, I love the way they catch light, and I like that they look delicate but are so strong. I found some other pretty pearl embellished sweaters here (I’m obsessed with this sweater and the price!):

You’ve seen me where these jeans a bunch on Rhyme & Reason (including here, here, and here) because I love them so much. High-waisted denim styles are just more comfortable in my opinion and I love the button-up style and the wide leg look (wide leg pants are always so easy to style with differing shoe heights and styles). White jeans look so smart in the winter and are a lovely reminder that spring is around the corner. My jeans are old but I love these three similar styles: one, two, three. I also rounded up a few other white jean favorites of mine (I just got these!):

My scalloped flats are a bit of an investment but trust me, you won’t regret them. They are made of the softest buttery leather. I wear them all the time when I know I’ll be out and about walking for a full day. They are perfect for traveling for this reason as well. They also comes in other colors here and here. In addition, I found some great similar styles here: one, two, three, four.
