In some parts of the US, things are starting to open up again. However, I know so many people who live in locations where this is not the case as well as people who have been told they will be working from home through the summer or even through 2020 regardless of where they live. Staying home to flatten the curve has been what we’ve all been working for this spring and it appears that this will keep going further into the year. At the beginning of sheltering in place, I wore workout clothes A LOT. However, as time progressed I really started to love getting up and getting dressed in real clothing and cute but comfortable outfits.
As of now, I’d say I get dresses 4-5 days a week and wear workout clothes 2-3 days a week. It’s a nice balance! I think getting dressed in the morning changes my mindset SO much and really, truly makes me feel great as well as more motivated, inspired, and empowered to go head first into the day. Today’s post features outfits to wear at home while working or enjoying a weekend day. These two looks have pretty much encompassed my style this spring… easy flowy dresses and jeans + comfortable tops (like my soft linen button-down). So, I snapped a few photos two days I got dressed last week to show you what I’ve been wearing. Plus, at the very bottom of this post, I included a roundup of sweet little cotton shirt dresses as they are also perfect to wear at home.

Outfits To Wear At Home
Jeans and a Button-Down
I’m a big jeans and a button-down girl. It’s hard to beat this combo when putting on an at home outfit. Why? Because it’s comfortable, classic, timeless, and looks professional on Zoom calls. When the temperatures warm up in Charleston, I always gravitate toward linen (as seen here and here) because the soft, natural, breathable fabric is so comfortable and wearable in the heat. I also style this button-down over swimsuits and wear it unbuttoned. P.S. I included a few great white blouses below that aren’t button-downs too similar to my vibe in this recent springy post.

Blue and White Sundress
My closet would be half as full if it weren’t for blue and white sundresses. That’s a bit of an exaggeration but I really do love a beautiful blue and white sundress. The one I’m wearing here is a few years old by the brand Xirena. However, I believe I found the exact same dress in solid white out this season. I also included a few gorgeous blue and white sundresses below for you to feast your eyes on that are fantastic to wear at home or out and about if/when you can. This beautiful dress reminds me of this Love Shack Fancy dress I have! #blueandwhiteforever

Cotton Shirt Dress
A shirtdress is something I believe every woman should have in her closet. They are as professional as they are charming as they are comfortable. Shirtdresses can be cinched at the waist or fit more freely. Either way, a cotton shirtdress is a timeless wardrobe staple that you’ll wear season after season, year after year. It’s hard to think of a more suitable article of clothing to wear when working from home or spending so much time at home. Shirt dresses are also just about the easiest thing to throw on and go.
