Our Wedding Reception

filed under:

I’m almost done sharing posts from our wedding in my Wedding Wednesday series! Today’s Wedding Wednesday post is all about our wedding reception… My what fun it was!! Edwin and I buried a bottle of bourbon a month before our big day to ensure beautiful weather on October 28th, our wedding day. Of course, it poured the afternoon of our wedding but the rain did clear right before our wedding ceremony started so we thanked our lucky stars that we buried the bourbon!

The photos below walk y’all through our wedding reception starting with digging up the bourbon with our wedding party (everyone drank it right from the bottle!), through our first dance (“That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Otis Redding), the father of the bride dance (“Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison), the mother of the groom dance (“Mother and Child Reunion” by Paul Simon), my dad’s toast (not pictured the amazing toasts given by my maid of honor and Edwin’s best man), cutting the cake, my bouquet toss, Edwin’s garter toss, Oh Pat! (go Kappa!), and our exit.

I left out most of dance floor photos with all our friends and family because it feels special to save them for just us (and because everyone had too much fun!). Our wedding ceremony was, without a doubt, the best party I’ve ever been to! Going through these photos again has me so excited for upcoming fall wedding season and wishing we could do ours all over again!

Stay tuned for my last and final Wedding Wednesday post featuring our wedding video coming soon! I can’t tell you how much Edwin and I appreciate all the love and kind messages, emails, and comments we’ve gotten from y’all about our wedding. It means the world to us!

P.S. For more on our wedding head to our wedding feature on Southern Weddings!

P.S.S. Check back to Rhyme & Reason tomorrow for our biggest announcement yet! xx
