Our First Christmas Card

Today’s holiday post is extra special! I’m pressing pause on my gift guides to share our first Christmas card with y’all. If you followed our wedding (don’t worry, lots more to come!), then you could probably guess that we picked a wedding photo for our card. Front and back! I swung by the most adorable local post office to share our holiday cards with y’all (way cuter than a USPS office, right!?). Starting Our Holiday Traditions

My does time fly! I feel like Edwin and I just got married but it was one month ago today. I’m thoroughly enjoying our first month of marriage, especially since its fallen over the holidays. We only have Thanksgiving down and some Christmas prep under our belt but we’ve already started some of our new traditions. One tradition I knew we would start year one of our marriage was sending out our first Christmas card. I absolutely love receiving holiday cards, Christmas cards, Hanukkah cards, and New Years cards so I couldn’t wait to design our card. I knew I didn’t have tons of time since I wanted to use a wedding photo and our wedding was the last weekend of October. So, I headed straight to the Minted website and started browsing their holiday card section.

Our First Christmas Card

Minted has so so so many amazing holiday cards to choose from that I actually had a blast picking my favorite and seriously struggled when I narrowed it down to the final three (I enlisted Edwin’s help!). Ultimately, I wanted our card to really pop when it slipped out of the envelope so I settled on a card with gold foil. It turned out so beautifully… I’m in love! “It’s a Wonderful Life” happens to be the name of my favorite movie and just felt like the right phrase to put on our card with a wedding photo that so clearly shows the joy we felt on October 28th! It’s such a wonderful life so I’m glad our Minted card gave us an excuse to exclaim that this holiday season.

On top of picking our actual card, we got to select our perfect envelope. Once again, there were so many beautiful options to pick from with different fonts, colors, and designs, my oh my! I decided to tie back in the gold with the “Deliver To” on our envelopes, which I’m so thrilled with. How cute is that!? My only regret is that I didn’t pick a beautiful lining for our envelopes!

However, perhaps my favorite part about designing our card with Minted was that we got to upload a document with all our mailing addresses (SO easy because we used our wedding invite list!) and get our envelopes printed with all the mailing addresses and our return address. Hallelujah! With all the wedding thank you notes I’m writing, this was a godsend! Honestly, one of the best services I’ve ever used! Our new pup, Maybelle, agrees! She happily jumped in the photos… I think she loves the holidays as much as I do!

Did you realize that December 1st is Friday!? If you haven’t designed your holiday card yet, then trust me when I say that you want to this week or next week. Holiday schedules are just starting to ramp up so check this off your holiday to-do list before you get too busy loves! I didn’t even realize you could do this until writing this post so I had to share that you can gift Minted gift cards. Now, you’ll most likely want to give the gift early so the recipient can use it on their holiday card but I just know they will appreciate it! I sure would! I also think it would be a great gift for someone you know who is getting married. Or even someone having a big party in the next year. They can use it for their invitations, thank you notes, etc.

I’d never used Minted before creating our first Christmas card a few weeks ago. Minted was so easy to use! I will without a doubt use them year and year again for our holiday card and for other paper (invitations, thank you cards, etc.). One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is checking my mail… I LOVE Christmas cards!So sappy, I know. Hope you love our first Christmas card! xx
