Last week, Virgil and I enjoyed the beautiful fall weather around Charleston by stepping out and snapping a few photos. It was so fun because we recapped my wedding the whole time… I can’t wait to see all Virgil’s photos from our wedding! I’m so excited by the sneak peaks he’s already sent Edwin and me!
If you’re wondering when to visit Charleston, November (and the second half of October) should definitely be on your list for best times of year. It has been glorious with temperatures in the 60s, which I find to be Heaven! On this particular November Day in Charleston wearing pink and red, I explored around South of Broad because there is always a new corner to discover or a fresh flowerbed to see.

This fall, I’m feeling autumn colors like burgundy and marigold just as much as I’m loving softer hues that aren’t as traditional for the season. Ever since I picked up this confetti pink sweater from Club Monaco for our mini-moon , I’ve been really embracing pink for fall. It feels like a soothing color for the season. I found a super similar sweater to mine for less and a handful of other adorable pink sweaters out now:
I’m thinking about doing a whole dedicated post on how to wear holiday red this year because I’m finding myself more excited to wear red than usual. This red crossbody purse felt like the perfect way to pack a punch with this outfit. I also love these two similar red crossbodys for less: one, two.
Charleston gets a lot of love in the spring. I can’t argue, Charleston blooms and comes to life in the spring but it is just as glorious in the fall. The air is crisp and cool and it’s actually quite surprising to see the combination of both some fall leaves and some fall/winter blooms. The beginning of October is still quite warm but the second half of the month and November are spectacular. For my full checklist of what to do in the city, read my Travel Guide for Charleston!
I adore my Joie Barlow Booties.
I have them in chocolate suede and still wear them year after year. Joie shoes are the most comfortable shoes in the world, especially their booties, boots, and heels. My booties come in 3 colors (my sister has them in black!) and are 110% worth the investment. The booties aren’t trendy at all so you’ll never regret the buy. I also like these two similar pairs for less: one, two.
