New York Packing Guide

filed under:

Packing can be so daunting but I always get excited to put outfits together for a trip, especially when it’s a fun destination. Putting together this New York packing guide was easy because I planned ahead with my outfits. For my current trip to New York, I went with neutral colors and a pop of Valentine’s red because New York is experiencing full-blown winter (case in point, on Saturday it was 0 degrees with windchill). I’ve been relying on my over the knee boots to help me stay warm and get me around town in style. I packed both my leather pair and my suede pair (great cheaper options). Believe it or not, I also packed a few dresses and skirts because I love the look of a dress with OTK boots (remember this outfit?). This silk boho Joie dress is just perfect in my opinion (I’m also obsessed with this lace and silk dress). If you’re looking for a new lip gloss, I absolutely have to steer you in the direction of Stila’s “Stay All Day” liquid lip. I love the ‘Amore’ color. Traveling to New York in the winter is also the perfect excuse to bust out every fur piece you have tucked in the back of your closet. J.Crew’s faux fur scarf (on sale!) and the Olivia Palermo for Nordstrom fur vest are both showstoppers. After this trip, I’m charging full steam ahead into spring clothes. Wardrobe be warned!
