New York City in June

filed under:

In June, I spent a week in New York City catching up with friends, visiting with family, tasting and sipping all through town, and doing a little sightseeing. Packing was definitely a struggle (hello, I’m an over-packer!) so I stuck with one of my fashion motos, “when in doubt, wear blue and white.”

I packed my light navy and white striped Soludos as an easy shoe option to throw on for walking around the city. I was also sure to pack my new Jenni Kayne leather jacket (I got it half price on a Memorial Day sale!) for alfresco dinners. Plus, I couldn’t leave home without my striped Equipment button-down and a J.Crew hat.

Some highlights of the trip were bike riding through central park, indulging my sweet tooth at Big Gay Ice Cream, walking along the High Line, and picking out my favorite brownstones.

I also ate at the most wonderful places! My favorites were Palma for dinner, Rosemary’s for lunch or dinner, ABC Cocina (& ABC Kitchen) for dinner, and Little Owl for lunch. Palma had such an amazing atmophere and tasty food that I already can’t wait to return on my next New York trip. I also must recommend late night drinks at Little Branch. I loved the live jazz music and the specialty cocktail list. Be careful, you could easily walk right past it! Another favorite of mine was walking around Eataly and then enjoying an evening cocktail on the roof.

Stay tuned for my Hamptons picks this summer!
