As spring arrives, it’s time to start wearing breezy, breathable clothing that wears well in rising temperatures. Charleston gets warm and sticky. So I’m excited to share my favorite breathable fabric to wear in spring and summer because it’s a game changer. In anticipation of our first full summer in Charleston.
I recently upgraded my wardrobe with two new linen pieces from Garnet Hill.
A linen maxi tank dress and an easy linen tunic. I always make linen a part of my lifestyle when the months start to warm up. The fabric is so comfortable, breathable, easy to style, and it’s great for the environment.
P.S. Keep reading for a trip giveaway to Charleston (where linen is the perfect fabric to wear)!

Outfit 2: Linen Tunic (c/o, comes in 7 colors!) / Raffia Tote (c/o, also comes in navy & tan) / Jeans (also love these and these) / Espadrilles (also come in two other wedge heights: one, two) / Earrings / Lip Stick (in “Petal”)
My Favorite Breathable Fabric To Wear
Don’t get me wrong, cotton is wonderful but when I really want to embrace an easy breezy look I opt for linen! My two linen pieces are crafted from fibers of pure French flax, which is why linen is the coolest of the cool fabrics… natural fiber + light weave = maximum breathability. Linen is also highly absorbent so I feel good wearing it on hot days!
My Current Favorite Linen Pieces
I’m currently obsessed with the two linen pieces I recently picked out from Garnet Hill. This linen tank maxi dress is a dream (comes in 3 colors)! I slip it on and an ready to walk right out the door. It’s chic yet still easy! On a spring night that cools off, all I have to do is toss on a denim jacket and I’m good to go. P.S. I’d love to be wearing this in the French countryside while picnicking with a fresh baguette and local cheese, ha!
I’m also swooning over this easy linen tunic. I styled it here with light wash blue jeans for an effortless look. However, I’m also planning to wear it as a beach coverup. It definitely has a tunic fit (which is why I tied it when wearing it as a top with jeans) so it is perfectly oversized as a swimsuit coverup. I styled both looks with the most adorable raffia and seagrass woven basket tote. It also comes in navy but I really fell for the natural color palette of the tan style. Plus, the pom poms are adorable!
How to Care for your Linen
It’s true, wrinkles come with wearing linen. I always embrace the wrinkles as it’s natural to the fabric and it’s part of the carefree beauty of linen. Linen is meant to be lived in so wrinkles come with the territory. However, you can combat the wrinkles before you head out the door so you start the day fresh. I recommend two options. The first is to iron the wrinkles. However, I know many people hate ironing so my second recommendation might suit you better. All you have to do is lightly spray your linen piece with water and then use your hand to simply smooth out the wrinkles. It works like a charm, especially when you’re in a hurry!
Y’all may have noticed that I partnered with Garnet Hill last week on my Instagram Story. It was to help them promote an amazing trip giveaway they are doing to Charleston! I’ll be sharing on my Instagram Story one more time next week before the deadline to enter closes but you can also enter here… good luck!!
