Last weekend, we were dying to get outside and do an activity that allowed us to social distance and stay safe while also having fun in the sun. The result was strawberry picking at Bugby Plantation U-Pick. I hadn’t been strawberry picking since I was a child so it was lots of fun to feel like a kid again (especially now in this uncertain time). I love living in a place with so much fresh produce grown locally and enjoy taking advantage of that in whatever ways possible.
While we were strawberry picking, I couldn’t quite tell how many strawberries we were gathering in our basket. When we got home and I was really able to see and I was so impressed! We have a TON of strawberries. One full basket at Bugby goes a long way. As such, I’ve been inspired by strawberry picking and spring in general in Charleston.

Inspired by Strawberry Picking
I couldn’t live without fruit! I love fruity flavors mixed with savory and salty flavors and would pick fruity desserts over chocolate desserts every single time. Strawberries are always perfect! I used a bunch of strawberries to make a spring salad on Sunday (similar to this recipe) and am planning to use more strawberries to make Sweet Laurel’s strawberry shortcake today. Another need-to-know strawberry shortcake recipe is the one from Half Baked Harvest. Do you have a strawberry sweet tooth yet? If yes, then you’ll love this article on fresh & juicy strawberry recipes.
I also rounded up some inspired strawberry items below! You’ll find statement strawberry earrings, whimsical strawberry printed items for your home, strawberry botanicals, and more.

Get The Look
To go strawberry picking, I wore the loveliest green and white stripe tie waist dress from one of my favorite brands, Pearl by Lela Rose. I scooped up this little sleeveless dress earlier this year when Pearl by Lela Rose was in Charleston for a truck show. I couldn’t resist this dress for the crisp cotton, smart stripes, bow detail, or the gorgeous green color tone. And I always die for her spring and summer designs! You may remember this Pearl by Lela Rose dress I wore last spring in Palmetto Bluff… it’s another favorite (I also wore it on Easter this year as seen on my Insta Story).
I accessorized with the most timeless Beau & Ro Moroccan-made natural bucket bag (it comes in more colors). Turns out, it was great for carrying strawberries! I also protected my face from the sun with my monogrammed ribbon straw hat from Tuckernuck. In addition to the white ribbon, there are four other ribbon colors (p.s. the monogram is optional). Lastly, I slipped on some sandals (similar for less) and tortoise shell sunnies. Spring dressing is the best!
I home this post gave you some spring inspiration. I don’t know about you, but I can use all the happy inspiration I can get right now! During the last few days, its been strawberries! xx
