The holidays are the best time of year for so many reasons. One of which is the abundance of parties! I’m definitely an extrovert so I love having a packed holiday calendar full of different festive parties. Over the weekend, I stepped out in the cutest Persifor embroidered top and velvet pants to my first official party of the holiday season and it got me so in the mood for endless celebrations. I attended a holiday gift wrapping party, which I think is such an underrated holiday party! It got me thinking about my favorite types of holiday parties so I wanted to share my thoughts + tips on how to host a holiday gift wrapping party. I hope this post gives you some creative ideas and maybe inspires one of you to have a holiday party of your own!

How to Host a Holiday Gift Wrapping Party
With busy schedules, wrapping presents can quickly become a dreaded task on to-do lists. That’s why I love holiday gift wrapping parties so much. Wrapping gifts doesn’t feel like a chore when you do it with friends as a holiday party tradition! It is perhaps the easiest type of party to host too. So follow these steps to host your own holiday gift wrapping party:
1. Pick a date to host when you know your friends will have gifts to wrap. The one I went to was the weekend after Black Friday so everyone brought their new purchases to wrap!
2. Gather all of the necessary wrapping supplies including scotch tape, double sided tape, masking tape, colorful pens, and plenty of scissors. Place everything out in mason jars for easy access.
3. Asks guests to each bring 2-3 rolls of wrapping paper they love.
4. Provide pretty wrapping paper of you own + all the wrapping extras. I’m talking ribbon, gift tags, tissue paper and lots of gift toppers like holiday greenery, dried flowers, mini ornaments, and anything else you’d love to use to adorn gifts.
5. Set out easy snacks like popcorn and a delicious holiday cocktail. Put on your favorite holiday playlist or toss on a Christmas movie in the background.
6. Voilà! You’ve got yourself a gift wrapping party!
What to Wear to a Holiday Gift Wrapping Party
When heading to a holiday gift wrapping party, I suggest dressing festive for the occasion but also comfortably since you’re working with craft and party supplies. I knew exactly what I was going to wear to my gift wrapping party after recently scooping up the cutest top and pants from Persifor. My black and white floral pants are actually velvet so they are so soft, comfortable, and yummy to wear! I adore the crop of the pants because I can easily wear fun shoes with the pants. In the spirit of rich wintery fabrics, I paired my velvet pants with an über chic embroidered top. My Favorite Types of Holiday Parties
In addition to gift wrapping parties, there are SO many other unique holiday-specific parties that I love this time of year! Holiday parties are so special because they are often hosted annually by hosts so years and years of memories can be made. There is no better time than now to host your own holiday party and make new holiday traditions. This will be our first Christmas in our house so I can’t wait to create new holiday traditions with Edwin in Charleston and in our first house! After attending a gift wrapping party last weekend, I decided to sit down and think about all the wonderful types of holiday parties there are so I could throw one of my own. It made me realize just how many types of Christmas and holiday parties there are! There’s truly a type of party for everyone!
A few of my favorite types of holiday parties are gift wrapping parties, Christmas cookie exchanges, Christmas cookie decorating parties, secret Santas, ugly sweater parties, gingerbread house building parties, white elephants, Christmas lights tours, holiday movie marathons, wreath making parties, tree trimming parties, and good ole fashion holiday cocktail parties.
