Getting ready on our wedding day was such a special part of the whole weekend. I absolutely loved every minute of the getting ready process! It’s funny because other than sleeping the night before our wedding day, it was the only part of the weekend that I wasn’t with Edwin.
You picture your wedding weekend with your soon-to-be and then new husband but the time you spend with all your other loved ones is one of the biggest treats too. I loved getting ready all day to music while sipping champagne with my favorite girls in preparation for our first look. I didn’t feel nervous but I definitely felt anxious with excitement for the evening and night to come!
P.S. I’m wearing these white pajamas (available in 3 other colors) and my girls are wearing these green stripe pajamas and these blue strip pajamas (also come in pink). I had them all monogrammed at Vieuxtemps in Charleston.
I spent the day with my mom, my maid of honor (my sister, Sarah!), and all my lovely bridesmaids. My bridesmaids consisted of one of my cousins, my new sister-in-law, and my best girlfriends from throughout my life. We all live all over the US and in London so having a whole day together was truly priceless.
I laughed and I cried while I tried not to let any moment slip by unremembered and unmarked. It was so fun seeing each girl in their monogrammed pajamas, getting their hair and makeup done, and then slipping in their bridesmaid dresses. It was the first time I saw all the girls together in their dresses! I kept my dress a secret from my bridesmaids. So we did a big reveal when I walked out into a room full of my girls. I love all the photos I have of their faces! I had a huge smile on my face too seeing them together in their dresses for the first time!
Edwin and his groomsmen had a great day together too. They played lots of music and games and enjoyed a big lunch. Edwin got to spend some extra time getting ready with his best man who is his lifelong best friend, Kevin. They are thick as thieves so the photos of the two of them warm my heart and will be framed in our house forever!
Getting ready on our wedding day was something I’ll never forget! I can’t tell y’all how much I wish I could be in the same place as my best friends more often. Brides-to-be, don’t wish the day away or spend it being nervous. My best advice is to remember that you’ve planned everything already. So once the day arrives just soak it all in and cherish every little laugh, hug, and moment! Plus, it’s fun getting your hair and makeup done!
I’m sorry for sharing SO many photos! I honestly have the hardest time narrowing them down! Also, don’t miss my other Wedding Wednesday posts that I’ve been sharing every week! xx

You looked really lovely on your big day! Your make-up was perfect, you looked just like you. I can see the love and joy on the faces of everyone in these photos. It must have been a magical day. Congratulations!
Thank you so much Beth!! I sincerely appreciate your sweet comment! It was my most favorite day in the world and I’m so glad it comes across that way! Thanks for reading R&R! xx
Would love to know where your mother’s dress is from, and the bridesmaids’. How did you get the many different dresses to coordinate so well?
I’m so glad you love the dresses! My mother’s dress is Oscar de la Renta! The bridesmaid dresses are from all over – I spent months searching around and ordering all the dresses to see them first before sending them to the girls! It was an undertaking but definitely worth it! xx
Would love to know where your maid of honour’s dress is from
Absolutely! It is the brand needle and thread!
