The Fourth of July is in two weeks, eeeek I’m so excited! July 4th is one of my favorite holidays! In the spirit of the upcoming festivities, I’m sharing a Fourth of July table with Stori Modern today complete with the chicest outdoor furniture, advice on what to wear, tips for what to serve, and ideas for how to set a Fourth of July table. My inspiration for this post came from our new blue and white outdoor furniture set!
It’s no secret that blue and white is my favorite color combination so you can imagine my joy when I discovered that I could bring the colors alive in our backyard. I thought, what better way to break in our new outdoor dining set than to set the table and host a party?! It just so happens that my natural tendency toward blue and white made it the perfect tablescape for a little Fourth of July inspiration.

Dreamy Stori Modern Outdoor Furniture
I searched high and low for the perfect outdoor furniture for our place in Charleston. I found that I kept coming back to this contemporary yet classic dining set. It comes in five colors but the pearl blue color is the perfect shade of rich and luminous blue so I knew I had to have it. There are also five different cushion colors to pick from so the set can really be personalized! Perhaps the best part (and Edwin’s favorite part!) of our new dining set though is that it required no assembly when it was delivered and, as such, the furniture is incredibly sturdy, steady, and durable. Win, win!
We have a huge tree in our backyard so having easy-to-clean cushions was a must for me. The cushions are made of sunbrella fabric so our backyard cleanup is super seamless. Overall, I’m so happy with the modern look of the furniture and love it juxtaposed with the traditional and historical architecture of Charleston! P.S. In addition to the furniture requiring no assembly, Edwin also loves it because it’s super comfortable (aka his top priority!).
How to Set a Fourth of July Table
I set this table using my current favorite dinnerware from Aerin’s collection at Williams Sonoma! I used these scalloped rim dinner plates (the style also comes in a charger and a salad plate) and layered on mix and matched blue and white appetizer plates. To make all the blue on the table really pop, I selected a cobalt water glass (similar, similar, similar). Honestly, I love the punch of color the glasses add! No table is complete without bundles and bundles of flowers. I selected all white hydrangeas with a few white roses popped in because I love the clean, fresh, all white look (the roses help fill in gaps between flowers). Also, I went this route with the flowers because it makes assembling bouquets SO easy! I arranged the flowers in my Tory Burch spongeware pitcher (center vase) and in two antique vases (one of my own and one of my mom’s – similar). Two garden stools with table extras completed the whole dining table setup. Sneak a peak at my tablescape selections below:
What to Wear to a Fourth of July Party
One of my favorite parts of July 4th is dressing the part. I like to go on theme and wear red, white, or blue or a combination of the colors. I wanted to embrace an easy and comfortable holiday look by slipping into a white denim skirt (last seen here) and a bow sleeve tank (on sale!). Of course, a Fourth of July outfit isn’t complete without a pair of Jack Rogers. I ended up matching the outdoor furniture!
What to Serve at a Fourth of July Party
Anything straight off the barbecue on July 4th is perfect in my book! Edwin grilled some chicken kabobs and I put together a huge mezze plate full of hummus, falafel, veggies, fruit, salad, pita, and more. We went for a bit of a healthier route but I’m definitely a fan of grilling burgers and baking fries too! I also highly recommend sliced watermelon or a fruit salad for guests. I’m a sucker for grilled corn too. Don’t forget to top everything off with rosé and beer for the boys!

Table fab, Mrs. Eversole fab, but doggie M steals the show. WC Fields once averred: “animals should be painted on scenery”..because they tend to steal the scene.
Cheers.
