I am completely ready for fall dressing, fall colors, and fall silhouettes! As I’ve been up in New England and New York the past couple of weeks, I’ve gotten a wonderful fall preview with cool mornings and nights along with a few full on fall weather days. The weather has allowed me to dress for autumn, which has been a joy! I attended my first fall wedding of the year this past weekend in Hudson Valley, NY so my fall dresses made their debut for the year. We still have four more weddings to go this season so I’ve got my eyes peeled for outfits for all kinds of different wedding weekend events from bridal brunches to rehearsal dinners to welcome parties to weddings or farewell brunches.
I love a full wedding weekend of events and really enjoy getting in the spirit for each event by dressing up! Here is a little fall wedding guest dress guide to get your wheels turning for what to wear!

Fall Wedding Guest Dress Guide
Casual Weddings or Wedding Events
For a more casual wedding or a more relaxed wedding event like a bridal brunch or a farewell brunch, I love to go with a beautiful yet comfortable cotton dress. Both structured cotton dresses and gauzy flowy cotton dresses work for these occasions! I think it’s important to respect that the event is still in celebration of a couples’ nuptials so keep in mind that casual doesn’t equal laid-back or careless. These are six great dresses that I would wear again and again to wedding events (p.s. I also love this under $100 final sale number)!
01Mix Print Dress

02Floral-Print Linen Dress

03Tiered Maxi Dress

04Animal Print Puff Sleeve Dress

05Long Sleeve Minidress

06Little Black Dress

Cocktail Attire Weddings or Wedding Events
For a wedding that calls for cocktail attire or a wedding event like a rehearsal dinner or a welcome party, I recommend sticking to protocol and dressing the part. Short cocktail dresses are so fun to wear but a midi dress is probably my favorite… you can’t go wrong with either look as both are appropriate for a cocktail attire dress code! These six dresses are simply stunning!
01Black & White Dress

02One Shoulder Bow Dress

05Tulle Scoop Neck Dress

06Lace Mini Dress

Formal Weddings or Wedding Events
For black tie optional or black tie requested weddings or a more formal rehearsal dinner, I always opt for dressing black tie. In my mind, the couple wants a black tie wedding but are being mindful of and respectful of guests who might not own a tux or many formal dresses. However, if possible, I say go big and dress up to black tie standards! For woman, an easy rule of thumb to pull off a black tie look is to wear a long dress and dressy heels (opposed to a wedge or espadrille). It’s not every day that we get to dress up so have fun with it! Arrive in one of these six dresses for a knockout look! P.S. I also love this velvet dress, this satin dress, and this embroidered dress.
01High-Low Dress

02Statement Ruffle Dress

03Satin Halterneck Dress

04Pleated V Neck Dress

05Tiered Ruffle Dress

06Embroidered Dress

I hope this post gave you some inspiration for what to wear to fall weddings and fall wedding events this year! From casual to cocktail to black tie weddings, there are beautiful dresses for every occasion. Edwin and I had nine weddings this year, woot! We have three more before year end. Due to all the weddings we attend, you could say I’ve got my wedding guest attire pretty dialed in. Enjoy any fall weddings you have this year! xx
