When the air turns crisp, it’s time to pull out fall wardrobe staples to wear into winter as well. I love this time of year because it’s time to pull out all the cozy pieces in my closet that bring warmth and comfort during the fall and winter season. A luxurious cashmere sweater is my favorite way to bundle up, especially a turtleneck cashmere sweater! It’s the perfect fall wardrobe staple to wear now and in December through March – all winter long. Another one of my not-to-be missed fall wardrobe staples to wear into winter is my coated black skinny jeans. Both pieces can be styled so many different ways!
Outfit 1: Turtleneck Sweater (c/o, comes in 7 colors) / Black Jeans (c/o) / Earrings (c/o) / Loafers (old – similar, similar) / Purse (old – similar, similar)
Outfit 2: Top (on sale! also comes in black & white) / Black Jeans (c/o) / Mules (old – similar, similar, similar) / Purse (old – similar, similar)
Winter Ready Cashmere Sweaters
My cashmere turtleneck sweater is from one of my favorite brands for effortless style pieces, Garnet Hill. With so many sweaters out there, it can be tricky to find the perfect sweater for fall and winter but, let me tell you, this one is it! It’s so yummy and the tailored fit makes it an effortless piece to wear with jeans and skirts. The great part about Garnet Hill cashmere sweaters is that you can wear them in so many different ways from day to night, for special holiday occasions, and on weekend days when you just want to lounge around the house. In addition to my turtleneck sweater, I love this textured sweater tucked into a skirt for date night, this cardigan sweater with jeans and booties for a casual everyday look, this festive cable knit sweater for the holidays, and this shawl sweater for lazy days around the house (with a cup of hot cocoa in hand!).
I’m currently trying to decide which cashmere sweater to gift for the holidays. My sister is a travel advisor so she travels constantly (she’s on a safari in Africa right now) and is always on freezing airplanes. I’m planning to get her this soft and snuggly yet super chic cashmere sweater for Christmas so she’ll be set for all her travels! She can wear it for comfort on the plane and then head straight to a work meeting or out for a day of exploring.
Look to Try: Coated Denim
I’m stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit with my coated black skinny jeans. I’ve never had a pair of coated denim before so I wasn’t sure how I would like the look on me. I definitely surprised myself because I love these jeans! I shared my new denim obsession, Jen7 Jeans, with y’all last week and mentioned that I have two pairs from the Seven for all Mankind sister line. Well, this is the second pair! Completely different than my blue jean pair, right? The coated black gives these jeans an elevated look and makes them a touch dressier than your standard black jeans… perfect for the holiday season! Here are a few of my current favorite black and dark jeans:
My floral silk top has a touch of a festive feel to me. I’ve been loving brown this season (as seen here and here) and I think brown looks so smart with black. The top has so many sweet details like a little ruffle, a dainty ladder trim, and a bow around the neck. Did I mention it’s on sale? I rounded up my other favorite tops at J.Crew right now too because they currently have so many pretty pieces made of beautiful materials from lace to silk to velvet.
Fall Wardrobe Accessories to Wear into Winter
The real accessory knockout of these two outfits is my tiered cayenne red tassel earrings. I wear Hart Hagerty tassel earrings literally all the time! Those of you who read Rhyme & Reason regularly can attest to this (recently seen here, here, and here). I cannot get enough of this color from Hart’s holiday collection! Expect to see them again and again on me! Even more accessories from this outfit right this way…
