In the summer, it’s blue and white. For me, right now in the fall, it’s blue and brown. I’m not abandoning white, I’m just loving the yummy richness or different shades of chocolatey brown. In fact, I styled this entire outfit around my new SEA top composed of the prettiest shades of navy blue and chestnut brown. I’m always so inspired by color! When putting together outfits, one of the main ways I arrange pieces and decide on an outfit look or theme is by color. Keep reading this color story for more on this easy, everyday chic yet comfortable fall outfit that’s perfect for day to night and perfect for date night. I hope you’re inspired by my fall color crush: blue and brown too! xx

I’m #WearingHampden today!
I’m wearing a piece that I bought in my favorite Charleston boutique, Hampden Clothing. I’ve had this pattered top in my closet since I scooped it up in August just waiting for the arrival of fall to wear it. I layered on with this chocolate brown suede moto jacket (more sizes here and here), which is a bit of a new look for me. I love what I know works so I often reach for a denim jacket, a utility jacket, or a pea coat. However, I’ve been wanting a suede moto jacket for a few seasons now so I decided to finally take the plunge knowing I could always send it back if it didn’t work (the beauty of Nordstrom is the option for free returns, am I right?).
I’m happy to report that I love the jacket so no return is necessary and I can’t wait to style it with jeans and over dresses all fall and winter long. It actually has a pretty solid weight too it so it will keep me cozy on chilly nights. All in all, this was the perfect fall date night look for a night out with Edwin!
I rounded up some of my other favorite patterned SEA tops for you here:
This was a perfect fall date night for Edwin and me!
We started the evening by the fire at our lovely Maine hotel, Whitehall. It was so nice to unwind with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day. The evenings were so crisp and cool while we were in Maine, giving us our first taste of the glorious fall weather to come. We spent two nights at Whitehall in Camden, Maine and enjoyed both evenings outside by the fire or on the front porch in the rocking chairs. The Maine air, the beautiful surroundings, and the comfort of the hotel made it impossible not to! On this night, we ventured out after wine to a delicious meal at Long Grain in downtown Camden. I highly recommend it!
P.S. did you see my first post from Maine last week!?
