Easter Style: How To Dress For Easter

Charleston, South Carolina
filed under:

Last week, I shared some Easter basket ideas and Easter outfits for littles as well as Easter tablescape ideas for a beautiful Easter celebration at home. So, now I wanted to update this older post on Easter style: how to dress for Easter including outfit ideas for casual Easter outfits, semi casual Easter outfits, and formal Easter outfits. I feel like I look so much younger in these photos from a few years ago but I still think the outfit is so pretty and happy! My whole outfit is a few years old so I sadly can’t link to exact links for what I’m wearing but I found gorgeous options that are current and I linked them below for you. I opted for a formal Easter outfit in this post as that’s what I usually wear on Easter Sunday to church and then to brunch with my family.

I also found some lovely alternatives for those of you who celebrate in a more casual or semi casual style. Shopping for Easter is a great kickstart to updating your closet for spring and summer. So I hope this post is helpful for anyone looking to scoop up a beautiful new item or two. I’ve found some fantastic dresses to wear, some semi casual skirts, and some relaxed separates in pants and tops so everyone is covered for the upcoming holiday (can you believe Easter is only a week and a half away?!).

Easter Style: How To Dress For Easter

Easter is one of those cheerful daytime holidays. It usually takes place on a beautiful spring day (depending on where you live!). As I mentioned above, in my family, we celebrate with a morning at church, then a festive, lively brunch before usually going on a long, leisurely walk or bike ride to help counteract all the eating at brunch. On Easter, some people dress for church while others dress for backyard Easter egg hunts. So the vibe can range from dressy dresses and heels to casual pants and feminine tops. On Easter, everything goes from pastels to neutrals to punchy hues to floral prints! Think about which category you fall into this year. Below I’ve rounded up outfits for causal, semi casual, and formal Easter affairs!

How are you celebrating? Easter is one of army favorite days of the year because it feels like spring has really sprung. And I’m always excited for a holiday to celebrate and gather around. The meaning behind Easter is so important and one I’m excited to share with my children as they grow up. It is such a beautiful, meaningful, special day all around!

How to Dress for Easter

Casual Easter Outfit

When it comes to casual Easter outfits, I think white jeans or pretty pants with a polished top (or sweater if it’s cold where you are) and simple sandals are the perfect look. This look is ideal if your Easter consists of chasing around your littles at an outdoor Easter egg hunt. Comfortable yet cute! I rounded up some colorful selections for you below including some springtime sweaters, chic sandals, pretty blouses, and great pants.

Semi Casual Easter Outfit

As can be assumed, semi casual Easter outfits are a bit dressier than casual Easter outfits. If you fall into this category, then I suggest a flowly midi skirt or a cute cotton dress (or a dress of any casual material, aka not silk etc.). Then add a pair of ballet flats, loafers (if you’re in the cold), espadrilles, or low heels to complete your outfit. A semi casual Easter outfit is perfect for a beautiful, elevated Easter brunch at home that is still a touch more relaxed than a big Easter out.

Formal Easter Outfit

My Easter outfit in this post falls under the formal Easter style category. I fell in love with this pink and yellow ruffle floral dress the moment I laid eyes on it. I wore the dress a bunch when I bought it a few springs ago to Easter, to a bridal shower, and to so much more. Dresses like this fluttery dress are perfect for all dressy springtime occasions. I love all the colors of Easter. So I decided to play that up with my Cult Gaia rainbow clutch. I rounded up a bunch of gorgeous dresses to snag now for a formal Easter celebration or for any other festive springtime occasion you have on your calendar this year.

I hope you found this post on Easter Style: How To Dress For Easter helpful! How are you celebrating Easter this year? After a few Easters at home, perhaps you are going out for a big celebration? No matter how you are celebrating, I hope it is a holiday to remember. I know it will be a very special Easter for our family as we grow it this year and welcome a second child into our family. So, with that in mind, who knows what I will be wearing this Easter. But, in my mind, I’ll be wearing a pretty dress like one of the ones I rounded up above. Happy Easter!
