Charleston Packing List

filed under:

I’m jetting to Charleston tomorrow after work to spend a girl’s weekend with my Mom. We have a very close mother daughter, best friends relationship so I’m really looking forward to the weekend. My Dad and brother are having a guy’s weekend in Alabama at the Alabama LSU football game so it works out perfectly (I’ll be missing my sister though)! On the agenda for Charleston is eating! We’ll be eating southern food at Leon’s (my favorite restaurant in Charleston), eating seafood at 167 Raw (you haven’t lived until you’ve tried their lobster roll), and brunching at Cannon Green (I’m excited to try it for the first time). We’re also going to watch the Alabama football game and I’d guess that a little shopping will break out (knowing me!). Here’s a look at what’s on my Charleston packing list and what’s in my suitcase…

Packing For Charleston on Rhyme & Reason

Hat / Purse / Sunglasses / Poncho / Booties / Vest / Dress (I also love this dress) / Cuff / Bangle / Blouse / Jeans / Turtleneck / Lip Gloss ‘Quito’

The key to this outfit collage is to look at how to layer the pieces in it to create multiple outfits. The beauty of these looks is that they can all be styled with the burgundy purse, the grey booties, the gold cuff, the gold bangle, the sunglasses, and the Nars lip gloss (in the ‘Quito’ color). I planned 3 main outfits:

Outfit One: Layer the black fur vest on top of the printed dress to stay warm for a night out to dinner. Throw the hat on for an extra touch.

Outfit Two: Layer the light grey poncho (it comes in a handful of colors!) over the blue and white stripe turtleneck. Pair the loose top layers with the skinny black jeans to balance out the proportions of the look.

Outfit Three: Layer the black fur vest over the classic white blouse and pair it with the skinny black jeans and the felt hat for a neutral look. You’ll never go wrong with this outfit, especially when you’re traveling.

  1. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned! Cannon Green is on my list for my next visit to Charleston, hopefully with you! The shrimp tacos at 167 Raw are my favorite thing on the menu (in case they have already run out of lobster when you get there)!

    Have a blast with mom!
