Bright Pink Purse

California can be very deceiving this time of year. In most parts of the country, it’s finally summer. What people don’t realize about California is that March and April (sometimes February too) are much sunnier and warmer than May and June. I’ve seen so many disappointed travelers over the years who arrived in California ready for the beach only to find “May Gray” or “June Gloom” weather, as we call it. Luckily, we have had a handful of sunny days the last month and a half in Los Angeles. One of them was the day I shot this look in West Hollywood. I met my friend and photographer, Betsy, at the Melrose Place Alfred Coffee on a simply gorgeous day! Thankfully, I was wearing a very summery outfit.

I love this easy breezy white skirt from Madewell. I anticipate myself wearing it all summer long. I also really love this striped white skirt for a fun alternative. I threw on this über cool Hawaiian, striped, cropped top, which would be so cute with white cutoff shorts or white jeans too. The pink purse was a birthday gift, aka the ultimate birthday gift!
