Today, I’m taking a stroll down memory lane to look back at the best of 2016 on Rhyme & Reason. It was such an amazing year and I feel truly fortunate and honored to have had you following along with me! I appreciate all your readership this year, your support during exciting life changes, and your interest in my travels and daily life. My highlight of 2016 is without a doubt getting engaged to Edwin! I can’t wait to start our lives together as a married couple in the fall of 2017! My engagement inspired me to create a wedding series on R&R that I will be picking back up in a major way in 2017. 2016 also brought so many other exciting experiences… I traveled (a lot!) to Mammoth, Fashion Week, New York City, Charleston, Miami, Ojai, San Diego, Newport/Laguna Beach, The Hamptons, Aspen, Jackson Hole, Palm Springs, Dallas, Boulder, Thomasville (GA), Watercolor (FL), and Cabo. I also went to Canada for the first time with girlfriends! Lastly, I was lucky enough to go to Asia for the first time and went to Vietnam and Bali to visit my sister who was living abroad (but is now home in America!). The majority of these trips were to see and stay with friends and family so another highlight of my year was getting to spend so much time with loved ones around the country. I can’t wait to see where in the world I’ll go in 2017! 2016 also brought some career change as I switched grades and went from teaching Second Grade to teaching Kindergarten. The little ones have been such a joy in my life both personally and professionally! In 2016, I also threw a baby shower, I was a bridesmaid, and I became a God Mother! I couldn’t be enjoying this time in my life more of getting engaged myself and watching my friends and family members get engaged, get married, and have babies. There is honestly too much to celebrate!
I was in a funny conversation earlier this year with some friends and family that consisted of us listing our strengths and weaknesses. It was decided that my best friend and I excel at celebrating! It might sound like a funny “strength” but I haven’t found a way to fill my life with more joy than by celebrating the accomplishments and life events of (myself and) those around me. If you know of a more fulfilling way to live then let me know! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite posts from 2016 below as a way to close up the year… stay tuned for lots of fun new content next year. I can’t wait for more celebrating in 2017! Cheers and happy New Year!
