Last week, Edwin and I drove from my cousin’s wedding in Carmel, California to visit Edwin’s lovely aunt in Berkeley, California who graciously hosted us for a fun few days. It was a quick two hour drive but we decided to take the scenic route and stop for a beach day in the adorable little coastal town of Capitola. I used to visit Capitola every summer before or after I’d go to summer camp in the redwood forest above Santa Cruz but I hadn’t been back in years. It was so fun to take a trip down memory lane and show Edwin around.
It’s a true California beach town with barefoot surfers walking to and from the ocean, a buzzing beach dotted with turquoise lifeguard towers, colorful little beach bungalows along the water, a legendary pizza counter serving up slices to go, and an ice cream shop with a line out the door. I came prepared with my new favorite hydrangea print ChappyWrap blanket and a straw bag full of beach necessities so I was ready for a day in the sun, sand, and surf!
Hydrangea Print ChappyWrap Blanket
My frequent Rhyme & Reason readers know all about ChappyWrap!
I gushed over the brand and the adorable mother daughter duo behind the yummy, soft, durable blankets in this post but I’m back with more today because I fell in love with one of their new summer blankets! Here are a few of my favorite things: blue and white, hydrangeas, and being cozy. Wrap all of these up in one and you get my latest obsession… this reversible blue and white hydrangea print blanket. I simply cannot get enough of the print!
One of the reasons I love ChappyWrap blankets so much is the versatility of them. I use my ChappyWrap blankets all the time inside when I’m snuggled up working at my desk, watching a movie, or reading a book but I also use them outside to wrap up in on chilly nights, at the beach, or at the park. When we’re home, we eat outside all the time so I always drape our Chappys over the backs of chairs for guests (or me!).
Chappys really truly make the best house warming or hostess gifts too, especially since you can monogram them like I did with my hydrangea blanket! An added customization is always an appreciated personal touch. My sister just moved into an adorable new apartment in Santa Monica so I got her this blue and white stripe blanket as a house warming gift! Isn’t it perfect for California?
P.S. if you’re wondering if it’s tricky to clean or wash ChappyWrap blankets after days when they can get dirty (like my beach day), then don’t fret! I never worry about using them outside because they are so easy to wash! Simply machine wash cold on gentle cycle and then tumble dry on low heat.
