Recently, my family rented a house and spent a spring weekend in Palmetto Bluff! I’ve mentioned it a few times now on R&R (as seen here!) and, if you follow me on Instagram, then you saw me sharing that weekend… all I can say is that Palmetto Bluff is magical! If you’ve ever considered taking a trip there before and wondered if it’s worth it, I’m here to tell you to do it and that it is definitely worth it. Every single one of us loved it!
A Spring Weekend in Palmetto Bluff
On the trip, my sister, Sarah, and I commented that we couldn’t remember the last time we were so relaxed, content, and inspired. We both also said we couldn’t remember the last trip either of us had taken that was so rejuvenating! Often on trips, we’re excited to see so much, visit so many shops, and try so many new restaurants and bars. It usually turns out that even though we’re technically on a vacation, we’re on the go the whole time. This was different.
Don’t get me wrong, there is tons to do but everything is exactly what you need to recharge and you can really go at your own pace. There is bike riding, tennis, golf, pools, shooting, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, horseback riding, spa-ing, and lots more. I think it’s a great place for kids too! We also went on a morning mimosa boat cruise, which was so beautiful and fun. They do it in the evening too for cocktail hour!
There are so many special touches that make an entire trip here extra lovely and dreamy like nightly s’mores by the fire pits!
There are two main ways to stay in Palmetto Bluff: a rental house and the Montage.
My family opted to rent a house that we found on VRBO (we were obsessed with it!) but the Montage is gorgeous too! We ate a dinner at the Montage and could use many of the Montage amenities with our rental house (each rental house is different with what you can and can’t use). The Montage is amazing too because they have adorable little cottages you can stay in in addition to the main hotel building. I really don’t think you can go wrong!
There is a cute local grocery that is little but extremely well stocked so we loved getting groceries and cooking big meals to have on the screened in side porch of our rental house! We also loved having a large yard, front porch, and common living space to all enjoy together so a house made the most sense for us.
If you’re looking to plan a trip to Palmetto Bluff or the general area, then be sure to read this blog post and feel free to email me with any specific questions! xx
