One of my favorite areas of Nantucket to spend time is Sconset.
We rented a house right by Sconset this summer for Allison’s bachelorette and then stayed on in the house for the following week. We found ourselves bike riding into Sconset all the time or hopping in the car for the short drive. Sconset is tiny and mostly residential compared to downtown Nantucket but there is surprisingly a lot to do in the neighborhood.
On this particular day, we got a little dressed up before taking a Sconset Stroll followed by lunch at the beautiful and charming Chanticleer. I love The Chanticleer for the food, flowers, ambiance, and service but also because it’s a restaurant that does allow you to get a little dressy, which is always fun. Keep reading for details on our blue and white outfits (both from CJ Laing!) and for a little scoop on Allison’s bachelorette!
P.S. Stay tuned for a whole post tomorrow on what to do in Sconset, where to eat in Sconset, and where to shop in Sconset!

Sconset has one of my all-time favorite boutiques right in the center of the tiny town, CJ Laing.
Yes, there is also a CJ Laing in downtown Nantucket too but I always love the intimate feel of the Sconset location best. Allison and I popped in and both immediately fell in love with two different blue and white dresses. The print on my off the shoulder dress (also love this dress) hooked me while Allison loved that the straps on her dress could be styled as a halter or as regular straps (also love this dress).
I think the two dresses complement each other well, don’t you?! Other than dresses, CJ Laing also has the most amazing selection of Oaxaca tops and cozy sweaters. Put the store at the top of your list when visiting Nantucket!
P.S. You might remember seeing me wear this other dress from CJ Laing on my honeymoon… clearly I love the store!
As promised, I’m going to spill on a little scoop on Allison’s bachelorette!
Allison didn’t want to wear a bachelorette sash or crown and she opted not to go overboard with t-shirts but she did want a little something special. So, we had a girlfriend of ours, who is an artist, design a custom Nantucket logo for our weekend that spelled out ACK with a sailboat, hydrangeas, and a lobster in the letters. Allison died for it! We had the logo needlepointed onto baseball hats and then added in an extra surprise for Allison.
Allison is a huge coffee, tea, and water drinker so I know how she loves her special bottles, mugs, and tumblers especially ones she can take on the go. I worked with May Designs to create a custom tumbler for the weekend which turned out to be the best decision as all the girls loved having tumblers to take to the beach full of water and coffee after fun nights out dancing at the Chicken Box.
May Designs can take any personal label or logo you want to create tumblers super easily and quickly.
We opted to go for a simple background of light blue but they have a million different backgrounds too. It was my first time working with the company but absolutely won’t be my last. I’m thinking I need to design custom tumblers for every bachelorette, birthday, and celebration… who is with me!?
P.S. I’m a water drinker more than coffee and these beautiful tumblers keep my water so cold!
