The week before last, I got to sneak away to one of my favorite islands, Nantucket, with some of my favorite people for an incredibly special weekend! If you follow me on Instagram then you know exactly what I’m referring to… my best friend Allison got engaged! Allison and I wanted to do one last girls’ trip before I moved across the country to Charleston and we quickly decided that there was no better place to do it than Nantucket. We researched hotel options and knew that Harborview Nantucket was the best option because it is situated right on the edge of the quaint little town center and on it’s own private harbor. Keep reading as I take you through our 72 hours at Harborview Nantucket (aka one of the best long weekends to date!).
72 Hours at Harborview Nantucket
From its storybook cobblestone streets to its blooming hydrangeas to its famed shingled homes, Nantucket is nothing short of a dream. Harborview Nantucket brings this dream alive with its 11 luxury cottages that all range from 1-4 bedrooms and are both incredibly spacious as well as incredibly adorable. The nautical charm of the decor will make you feel like you never want to leave. It was perfect for us because, although Allison had no idea, I knew that we’d have some friends joining us on the island and we’d want the space to gather for a handful of celebratory sips. Harborview Nantucket cottages have waterfront views, all the amenities you could need (kitchen, washer + dryer etc.), and access to standup paddles boards as well as sunfish sailors whenever you want from the private harbor. I really can’t say enough about this lovely property. You might be wondering why I’m praising Harborview so much… well, other than the fact that we fell in love with it, it’s where Tim proposed to Allison and the whole weekend began making the property that much more special in our minds!
After the magical proposal took place on the private beach in front of Harborview… Allison and Tim’s siblings (+ me!) ran out to keep the surprises coming for Allison! So, we immediately kicked off our 72 Hours at Harborview Nantucket in a flurry of excitement! Next we headed to Cru for champagne, oysters, and lobster rolls before we kept the fun going at Cisco Brewery. That evening, everyone came to Harborview because we had so much space. We popped more bottles and relived every detail from the morning. We had a big friendly dinner at Lobster Trap and closed out the night with a little dancing at Chicken Box. What a day!

Our second 24 hours at Harboview consisted of a morning walk to Handlebar Coffee (right around the corner!) and then a morning spent wandering around and admiring town. Our stomaches started to rumble so we got sandwiches at Something Natural and beelined it for ‘Sconset to hit the beach for a few hours. The fun didn’t stop because we headed back to town for a late afternoon sail with Endeavor Sailing. It’s BYOB and oh so fun! We freshened up and went to my favorite dinner spot on the island, Galley Beach. Galley Beach is an absolute must to dine at during sunset when on Nantucket!
Our final 24 hours on the island consisted of really fun best friend time. The siblings headed home in the morning but Allison and I stayed for one last night at Harborview. We brunched at Met on Main, shopped at CJ Laing, Milly & Grace, and Peter Beaton Hat Studio and did a huge bike ride from town out to Sankaty Head Lighthouse. That night we had dinner at Greydon House over lots of girl chat about exciting wedding planning to come for Allison!
On our final morning, we both got some work done in adirondack chairs on the lawn at Harborview before we grabbed an early lunch at Lola Burger and headed to the airport (naturally it’s a shingled building and completely adorable like the rest of the island) to fly back to Los Angeles. I can tell you with 100% certainty that Allison and I will be headed back to Harborview Nantucket next summer as it now holds such a special place in our hearts! I feel so lucky to have been able to be a part of my best friend’s engagement (p.s. Edwin was invited too but couldn’t make it because he had already committed to a friend’s 30th birthday fishing trip)! Until next time, Nantucket!
As always, feel free to email me if you’re planning a trip to Nantucket and want more advice! xx, Jillian
