Goodness me, Thanksgiving is about two and a half weeks away! I’m sure I’m not alone but I simply can’t believe it. The week before last, I asked y’all on my Instagram Stories to send in any blog post requests you had, which I found to be extremely helpful! And I received multiple requests for Thanksgiving outfit ideas so I’m happy to share today’s post. I hope it gives y’all some helpful ideas. I broke this post down into casual Thanksgiving outfits and dressy Thanksgiving outfits. Plus, just below, I shared the outfit I think I’ll be wearing on Thanksgiving. I wore this outfit on the night of our two year wedding anniversary at the Inn at Perry Cabin! I loved it so much that I think it warrants an immediate repeat. I’ll be sharing a full post on it this week so stay tuned! Keep reading for 14 Thanksgiving outfit ideas…

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
Casual Thanksgiving Outfits
Plaid Shirt Outfit
Plaid and fall go hand in hand. I always love plaid so much because, in general, I only wear it in the fall and winter. I wear a lot of festive holiday plaid too so I feel that my main plaid wearing days fall between October and December. For this reason, plaid always feels special to me! A great cotton or flannel plaid shirt is the ultimate festive yet comfortable piece to wear for a casual Thanksgiving. For more ideas on styling plaid shirts, visit this post!

Green Pants Outfit
At first glance, green pants might not appear that versatile but they actually are! So many different pieces can be worn with olive green pants other than the main looks I went for with this outfit (leopard, plaid, and pink). It is also honestly so easy to sub out your standard blue jeans or a pair of black jeans for a fun green pant! Why not give it a try this Thanksgiving!? For more of my favorite green pants + tips on styling green pants, see this post.

Coated Denim and Turtleneck Outfit
Last fall, I gave coated denim a try and really loved the look. I recently wore these coated black jeans in Montana when we were there for a wedding and received so many compliments on them. Wearing coated denim is an incredibly easy way to elevate an outfit in a snap because coated jeans look dressier than regular jeans. These is also no way to beat a classic cashmere turtleneck sweater! This is one of my favorite outfit ideas for a Thanksgiving Day filled with family and friends.

Cozy Neutral Fall Outfit
Say hello to the layer I didn’t know I needed but now love: the long vest! The suede top and sherpa bottom of this vest are both so comfortable and warm. The rich textures are just right for fall! This has quickly become one of my favorite comfortable outfits this season.

Feminine Fall Outfit
In Charleston, this time of year, it’s not uncommon to need boots and a coat one day and a lightweight ruffle blouse and closed toe espadrilles the next day. This is a great Thanksgiving outfit if it’s not very cold and if you want to look casual but still feminine. More of this look here!

Pink & Red Outfit
I love color combos that are frowned upon by some like black and navy and pink and red. In this case, I stepped out on a bright, crisp fall day in Charleston wearing an über cozy sweater (old – similar, similar) and a punchy red purse (similar for less). I topped the outfit off with one of my all-time favorite pair of booties, the Joie Barlow booties. I’ve had my pair for probably five years! The colors of this outfit prove that you don’t need to stick to traditional fall colors to be festive for Thanksgiving.

Cream Sweater Outfit
The cream sweater is one of my absolutely musts for year round dressing! In the fall, around Thanksgiving, a cream sweater goes with everything and is a great piece to slip on any day of the week. If your family likes to snap family photos on Thanksgiving, a cream sweater is a perfect way to go because you can be confident that your outfit will go with everyone else’s. This is a timeless casual Thanksgiving look! Here are six fantastic affordable cream sweater options: one, two, three, four, five, six.

Dressy Thanksgiving Outfits
Festive Green Dress
Last fall, I had the privilege of working with Elizabeth Wilson Designs to collaborate on a dress design! The final product was this gorgeous green wrap dress! I absolutely love all the details from the statement waist tie bow to the ruffle trim. It is the perfect festive dress for the holiday season! Plus, it was just released again for this holiday season and is on sale!

Burgundy Floral Outfit
If I’m playing favorites, this burgundy floral dress might be my favorite item I’ve scooped up this fall! It is so feminine and beautiful! It’s everything and more: the material is incredibly soft + it has pockets, ruffles, and waist ties. The waist ties will come in very handy on Thanksgiving if, like me, you plan to eat too much turkey… with this dress I can let the waist out! Fall Floral Outfit
It’s no secret that I love fall florals! This dreamy floral dress is a beautiful option for a dressier Thanksgiving. If it’s cold where you live, style this dress with slouchy boots and a suede jacket. P.S. this dress is from a big fall wedding guest dress guide complete with casual, cocktail, and formal dress options that you can read here.

Cocktail Dress Outfit
If your Thanksgiving calls for a cocktail style dress, then I suggest turning to Ulla Johnson! She designs the most gorgeous cocktail dresses out there like the one I wore last year as seen below. This year, she has so many to die for cocktail dress styles in beautiful patterns and rich colors. A fun way to add a little punch to a cocktail dress Thanksgiving outfit, is to add a pair of Hart Hagerty tassel earrings. They come in so many stunning colors!

Suede Skirt Outfit
Suede skirts are a tried and true fall look. So, a suede skirt makes for a great Thanksgiving item to wear! Pair a suede skirt with OTK boots and a long sleeve top or a cropped sweater.
